How You Can Use This Bulletin Board to Promote WLCC

This bulletin board is cutting edge. At present, there are maybe 100 country clubs in the US that have one. It is part of what is called "the web 2.0 revolution". It is flexible and interactive in ways that can promote our community that have not been used at Wolf Laurel before.

I wrote generally back in May about why we think think the bulletin board is a great new tool. Let's turn our attention now to specific and useful things where you, the equity members, can help us improve and grow.

Club Promotion: The Ultra Easy Email Function
Below every article you will see an icon, , yep, that's a small postal envelope. Members may click on that, to open up a page which looks like this.

From there, you can easily email that article to friends or prospective members. The flexible part is that you can do this without having to use an email program or log into your mail account. Just enter the information and click the blue "Send" button. Club promotion has never been easier!

How to Leave Comments: A New Voice For You
Below every article, there is a hyperlink for "comments". Readers may click there and a new, smaller window will open. In that window you can leave suggestions or any other thoughts on club business. This capability is anonymous, and all we ask is that your comments conform to this simple, common sense policy.

We want and encourage your voice. In the future, this function might be used for any number of purposes, suggestions, or just discussion among members on hot topics. We are learning as we go how we might use it, so by all means give us your feedback in the comments section.

Calendars
The monthly calendar will appear here, before the US Mail arrives, and in a flexible format. It is posted as an image, or 'jpeg", which gives you the ability to print, save, set as your desktop background, or even send it by email. Here is an example of how to do those things using a simple "right click". This is just a small part of web 2.0 flexibility.

Widgets
A widget is any kind of device that can be "embedded" into a bulletin board and provides a function. We will be using several of them along the way such as slide shows and video to make the club come alive, no matter when or where you are. You can even add your images to the slideshows.

We will be trying other widgets as the season goes on, and as this bulletin board grows.

Hopefully you are as excited as our staff is about this board and its functionality. We have more tools than ever now to be engaged, connected to each other, and to help you, the members, promote the Club.
