2012 is Here

Hi All,

Can hardly believe the winter is half over and in another 3 months we'll be seeing you all again. Hope everyone is having a good and healthy winter, preferably with some fun thrown in!

I have the tentative 2012 calendar done and will post it here so you can begin making your plans. There's a few special things planned for early season, and I wanted to give you a "Heads Up".

Our Welcome Back party (May 26) theme will be " Summer Camp at Wolf Laurel". I'll post the flier. The group of Members from the Naples area are planning this party; it should be a lot of fun and we know our Members will love it. Hopefully we'll get some incriminating photos!!

Watch for a special Sunday evening event on June 3rd for a Book Signing and Reception hosted by Milton Ready. He has just launched his newest book "Mystical Madison" and we can't wait to read it. (More details will follow.)

The following Sunday afternoon, June 10, Nita Ready and the Ebbs Chapel foundation will be hosting a "Prom Night for Hunger", to benefit the Ebbs Chapel Food Pantry and Soup Kitchen. This will be a great time for people to dress up, have a lot of fun, and benefit a great local cause. We'll have more details on that soon, but in the meantime, dust off those Prom Gowns and make sure you pack them up!

Friday, June 15: We'll be hosting a "Wine Pairing Dinner", an event that many of our Members have asked for over the years.

Saturday, June 16: WLCC General Membership Meeting; please plan to attend.

On Monday, June 18, we'll be having a Cookbook Tasting Party and Benefit for "My Sisters Place." It's wonderful that our Members support such local non-profits, and do so with such enthusiasm. The Cookbook has been a huge success!

That takes us right into the Member/Guest June 21-13, a Single Malt Scotch Tasting on Friday, June 29, and a Flag Tourney on Saturday, June 30.

Also on June 30, we will be hosting our Second Annual Casino Night! Last year was such great fun, make sure you plan to come! This year the proceeds will go to an improvement project for the Club, like a new rug for the Peregrine Room or new chair cushions or window treatments.

Many of you have heard that Chef Jack Keeran, (former owner of the Sunnyside Cafe in Weaverville), will be joining our staff this year. He comes with a fresh outlook and a lot of great ideas, so we all look forward to welcoming him as part of our Wolf Laurel Family.

As always, we are open to ideas so if you have any events or suggestions just let us know and we'll see if we can implement them. Rumor has it that we'll be carrying Draft Beer this year in the Lounge..."Martini Special Nights", even a "Night Sky" Class for those interested in joining. We will again be offering 1/2 price wines one night per month; a good way for you to sample some of our newer wines.

We look forward to seeing everyone soon. Take care,
Sandy
