Firewood Arbor Restoration Saturday, Sept. 1st

August 10, 2012

Subject: Firewood from Arbor Restoration

The Arbor Restoration project for the 2012 season has been completed. If you have not been on our golf course, your next round will include noticeable changes to the safety and playability of certain of our holes.  The work includes clearer views to the landing areas and certain greens on holes 1, 8, 9, 11, 13, and 14.  Next year we plan to complete similar work on holes 6, 8 (left side of fairway from the 150 yard marker to the green), 16 and 17. Please recognize that the foliage and growth on the trimmed trees and shrubs will eventually fill in.

Many of the logs have been saved for use by our members and our employees for heating their homes this winter.  We are targeting September 1st as the date when those members, who are interested, may begin picking up the logs from our staging area. David Letterman and his team are stacking the wood in a central area close to the golf course maintenance building, where it can be easily picked up. To ally some of our costs, we will be asking for contributions of $50 per pick-up truck bed load (no ton trucks) with a limit of one truckload per membership until each of our members has had an opportunity to obtain this quantity. The logs will be available beginning September 1st on a first come basis until the supply runs out.  If there is still a supply available after November 1st, you may help yourself to the remainder with consideration of an added donation. You will have to use your own vehicle and labor, when picking up your load.   If you do not have a vehicle to haul your own wood or are unable to split and load the wood on your own, contact David Letterman (284-0479 or dlwlcc@ccvn.com) and provision will be made for a load to be delivered to your home for an additional fee.  Please make your checks payable to “Wolf Laurel Country Club.” We will use the funds collected for golf course maintenance related projects.

We have been asked to wait to begin picking up any of the logs until September 1st in order for David Letterman and his folks to stage and inventory the wood. Please see David or one of his people and make payment at the maintenance office before loading.

Thank you in advance for your understanding and consideration of the process we are using in an effort to be fair to all.

Thank you.
