Dining at Wolf Laurel CC
Off to a GREAT start!
It’s been an exciting start to the 2012 WLCC season! With the early spring weather, we opened the club a few days early and it was wonderful to see so many members at the club to enjoy the new dining and lounge experience. Clearly the highlight has been the magnificent collaboration of our culinary team of Chefs Rudi and Jack. A few of the notable comments we’ve received:
“The dinners were great last night and it was wonderful to see so many there having a such a great time, re-connecting after the winter” – Cathy Johnson
“Rudi and Jack are off to a great start!” – Rich Ashley
“The food was wonderful and I can not say enough about the rolls !! – Shannon Bryan
“Great Job and Kudos to all the staff.” – Margaret and John Pitner
Keep informed on all the happenings at the club by visiting the WLCC bulletin board at www.wolflaurelcc.blogspot.com and making sure you receive our frequent email updates that keep you informed on the restaurant menus and all that’s going on. If you’re not receiving the emails, please take a moment to email your email address to wlccemail@gmail.com or simply fill out an email card available from Sandy in the lounge.
Dining at the Club
The blend of Rudi and Jack’s delicious offerings has been a great success. Complimented by fresh produce, freshly baked breads and wonderful desserts, the dining experience has reached a new level. Whether you’re in the mood for an upscale fine dining experience or want a more informal meal, you’ll find it at the Club. Call the club at 680-9773 at any time to make your dining reservations.
Fine Dining: Fine dining on Friday and Saturday has never been better! Combining some of our most popular traditional entrees with new and exciting items, each menu is sure to satisfy. Over the first weeks, some of the most popular menu items have included:
- Chef Rudi’s Shrimp and Scallops with Vodka
- Chef Jack’s Sesame Ginger Duck Breast
- Chef Rudi’s Famous Wiener Schnitzel
- Chef Jack’s Lemon Crusted Cod
Bistro Night: The popular Bistro menu remains a cornerstone of the Club’s weekly dining lineup on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Pizzas, chicken pot pie, fish and chips, baked cheese ravioli, braised lamb shank and blackened Mahi Mahi are just a few of the offerings being featured – there’s much more to come on Bistro Nights.
Bar Menu: In response to our Member’s suggestions, we have introduced a casual “Bar Menu” to provide Members with the option to have a less formal dining experience throughout the week. The Bar Menu is available throughout the club every night and features a variety of light menu items including burgers, salads, fish and chips, sandwiches, quesadillas and the like.
Lunch: Lunch is being offered daily Tuesday through Saturday in the lounge and on the deck. Whether you’re concluding a round of golf, want to join friends or just relax in the wonderful mountain atmosphere, lunch at WLCC will be sure to satisfy.
Carry-Out: For those that prefer to dine in the comfort of their home but don’t feel like cooking – try the new Carry-out menu. Pizza with your choice of toppings, sandwiches and salads are but a few items on the standard Carry-out menu. Pick up a copy of the menu the next time you’re at the Club and keep it on your fridge! Remember, you can always choose to carry-out any of the entrees being offered in the dining room that day. Simply call the Club at 680-9773 to place your order and pick up in about 15 minutes.
New in the Lounge
If you’ve visited the lounge this season, you’ve surely noted the many changes. The new bar stools and new TV may be the most noticeable but the revitalized beverage offerings are the true highlight.
Wine List: With special thanks to Steve McKnight, our wine list has been expanded and upgraded. We have added seven new wines, all of which are highly rated by wine critics and attractively priced. Our new wines are:
Artesa Carneros Chardonnay 2010
Sinonett Chablis 2009
Riondo Prosecco NV
St. Ema Reserve Merlot 2008
Ferrari Carano Merlot 2008
Bouchaine Carneros Pinot Noir 2008
Cline Syrah 2009
We are also offering a dozen wines by the glass as well as by the bottle. So, it is not necessary to buy a full bottle to enjoy excellent wine at the bar or with dinner. Additionally, we have upgraded our house wines to Jacobs Creek cabernet and chardonnay. The chardonnay was recently given five stars in a wine review appearing in BusinessWeek magazine.
Martini Menu: New this year is our Martini Menu featuring seven unique martini creations including Sour Apple Martini, Pink Punk Cosmopolitan and the Crème Brulee’ Martini.
Craft Beer on Tap: The introduction of locally brewed Craft Beer on tap has been a huge success! Asheville’s national reputation for fine local brews provides us with a vast selection of sources including Asheville Brewing, Pisgah, French Broad, Highland and Sierra Nevada. Our initial brews (a light, refreshing lager, an I.P.A, a traditional ale and a porter) have been best sellers. We will soon begin introducing seasonal beers. Although we haven’t yet decided on which will be the first one introduced, it looks like Highland Brewing’s new Razor Wit, a summer unfiltered wheat, is the front-runner.
We look forward to a wonderful season at WLCC and welcome your suggestions at any time. Share your thoughts with us by email, phone or whenever you see us at the club.
