Historical Society Postponed

WLHS proudly presents its first program of the 2011Season on Wednesday, June 15, 4 pm at the Wolf Laurel Country Club. The title of this summer's season is "Appreciating Our Partners In History.” Richard Dillingham will be giving us an update on the life and times of Dr. Harley Jolley. Dr. Jolley, professor emeritus of history at Mars Hill College, a Pearl Harbor survivor, renowned historian of the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Civilian Conservation Corps. He is also a former park ranger, and author of many books on the BRP and the CCC. He has been featured on PBS and has won many awards.

Richard will also bring us up to date on his work at Mars Hill College as a history consultant and another speaker will be from the Bee Log School, whose history was presented last year.

Remember that the non-profit WLHS presents these programs for your education and enjoyment of our WNC history. We need your support to continue our efforts to preserve our heritage, provide honoraria to our speakers and to our video recorders of these programs. Please join our Historical Society by paying dues of only $15 single, $25 family.

Everyone is invited to attend these programs, held on the 2nd Wednesday during the months of June – September.
