WLHS Sept 9


Last program of the “Going Back to Our Roots” Series for 2009.

When: Sept 9 at 4:00 PM in the Old bar.

Speakers will be Vernon and Thelma Ponder, who will talk about “The Way We Were – in Ebbs Chapel/Upper Laurel.” Vernon is a former principal of Ebbs Chapel School and currently the Chairman of the Madison County Board of Commissioners.

The September meeting is also the WLHS Annual Meeting, with election of Board members. If anyone would like to run for our Board of Directors, please notify:

Note that at this Saturday’s Harvest Festival, WLHS will be selling the book Upper Laurel and Her People” by Delia Tipton Brittain.

We will also have our last speaker, Dr. George Stuart, there to sign his book, "Ancient Pioneers: The First Americans," which is a general introduction to American archaeology with incredible stories of the regions and the cultures they produced.
