As everyone knows, this is our first November of official club operations, the November Calendar, as planned, is here.
Our success however, both in terms of your experience and our financial statements will have to conform to some new guidelines, which will commence for dining on Tuesday, November 4. Thus, we now introduce.....
Important Information: November Lounge and Dining
*The Course of course, will be open daily, weather permitting, as always.
*Telephones: All three telephone lines will be operational in November.
*The Lounge and Dining Room: We are prepared to be open every Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday. However, we must have 30 advance reservations for dinner in order to open. Financially, and with much of our seasonal population "back home", this is how we must responsibly approach this new venture. Please use 828 680 9773 for reservations.
*Deadline for Reservations: In order to properly plan, we will need your reservations 48 hours in advance. For example, at 6 PM on a Wednesday evening, we will tally the number of reservations, and "make the call", as to whether The Lounge and Dining Room will be open for Friday night.
*How Will We be Informed if The Dining Room and Lounge Are Open?: We plan to disseminate this information in three ways. 1) This bulletin board will be updated, almost immediately. 2) The outgoing message at 828 680 9773 will be updated, almost immediately. 3) We plan to call those of you who made reservations with "the verdict".
*If The Club Gets 30 Advance Reservations, Can We Make Reservations After the Deadline?: In a word, yes. Once we achieve our minimum number of 30 reservations, you may indeed reserve for dining after the deadline. Please do so at 828 680 9773.
*When Are Those Deadlines Again Please?: For Tuesdays, we will count reservations at 6 PM Sunday. For Fridays, the deadline will be 6 PM on Wednesday, and for Saturdays, 6 PM on Thursday. The first deadline for this year will be 6 PM on Sunday November 2, for dining on Tuesday November4.
In Closing: We certainly hope that members who are on the mountain will come and continue to enjoy The Lounge and Dining Room this November. With many of our members gone for the winter, and with an eye on fiscal responsibility, this is the system we have devised. It is my hope that we can all work together to make November an enjoyable success.
