Date Night- Fri Sept 19- 7:30 PM

It's another edition of date night in the lounge at 7:30 PM this Friday, Sept 19.

The film will be Charlie Wilson's War, (2007), featuring Tom Hanks, Julia Roberts, and Phillip Seymour Hoffman, directed by Mike Nichols.

Based on a true story, this is a political film about US involvement in Afghanistan after the USSR invasion. Phillip Seymour Hoffman received the Best Supporting Actor nomination for this film.

The movie gets an 82 over at Rotten Tomatoes, a good rating from that crowd.

As with other date nights, if you plan to order from the bar menu, then please do so by 7 PM, so that tables can be mostly cleared before we start the film.

Last Call For Tea

Monday September 8 at 12 Noon:
Mys-TEA-Cal Tea Party, fund raising for the player piano.

The Club is closed, so here is a chance for a great luncheon with fine friends and in a great home, the Howard's on Running Cedar, at 12 noon.

Contributions, 100% of which got to the fund, are $15 at the door, and the optional $5 donation for the door prize drawing.

We are getting closer than we thought on this and thank EVERYONE who has donated thus far, immensely.

A la Carte and Arte at the Wolf-Sept 6

Today we provide some additional details on the Madison County Arts Council event on Saturday. All day and evening WLCC will host A la Carte and Arte. The event is open to all.

All Day and Evening?
*1 - 6 PM: Art Sale-on the Front Porch, featuring fine local artists.
*5 - 7 PM: Wine and Cheese
*7 - 9 PM: Dinner and Poetry Alive!

Menu
Choices Include: Chicken Cordon Bleu, Prime Rib, Salmon Rockefeller, or Vegetarian Pasta. Drink tickets and so forth will be available for non members at the event.

Cost and Tickets
Tickets for dinner and the show are $50/person, and may be purchased at this link, all proceeds will benefit the MCAC. Tickets can also be acquired via jjwlnews AT gmail DOT com.

Sept 8: A Mys-TEA-Cal Party

Hello Everyone,

It's been wildly busy, so why not take this Monday to relax with one of our monthly fund raising "Tea Parties" for that lovely grand player piano.

Remember please, that all door prizes, food, and drink are donated, so contributions go towards the piano on a 100% basis.

*Speaking of Door Prizes: For this party we have a lovely combination. The items are this gorgeous Zen Teapot, from Horchow, accompanied by some tasteful blooming tea leaves, from Numi Organic Tea.

*When Is It?: September 8, at 12 Noon, a luncheon party and men are certainly welcome. The Club is closed, so by all means join us.

*Where: The Howards on Running Cedar.

*Theme: "MysTEAcal Party", The main entertainment of course is an elegant lunch, mimosas, and relaxed company, with the option to examine the energy of that ancient Chinese practice of examining tea leaves. Leslie has graciously worked to cater this party and has hired a psychic who will read tea leaves.

*Reservations: The Howards are asking for no more than 40 guests, so please make your reservations with Meg, at 680 9771.
